Our Pastor
Pastor Barry George
I am honored to serve the Tabernacle Baptist Church family. It is both a blessing and a sacred responsibility to shepherd a congregation that is committed to growing in faith. God has placed within me a deep passion for His Word and a sincere love for His people, and I strive daily to live out the ministry of restoring humanity—one soul at a time—through the message of reconciliation.

I greatly enjoy preaching and teaching the uncompromising Word of God with power, conviction, and simplicity. My desire is that every person who encounters this ministry will grow stronger in their faith, clearer in their understanding of Scripture, and more committed to living a Christ centered life.

During this time of uncertainty in our country, our communities, and even within our churches, I believe we must all cleave to the greater call of “Godly Excellence.”

church HISTORY
Our church has been in ministry for the past 129 years in the greater city of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
We have had countless Pastor's, committed members, and community volunteers and leaders who have stood with us to continue the pouring out of love to support our community by being that beacon of hope given to us by Jesus.
1896
Tabernacle Baptist Church was organized in Oklahoma City, OK by Rev. J.W. Dungee and sixteen founding members.
1996
Tabernacle Baptist Church celebrated it's 100th anniversary as a religious body.
1915
Under the 10th pastor Rev. E.W. Perry, Tabernacle became strong and stabilized with tremendous progress both spiritually and financially. He served for 54 years.
2000 - 2024
The church went through a restructuring and revitalizing period which several pastors helped implement during this time.
1980
Rev. Clarence E. Davis became the 12th Pastor and a vibrant outreach program of evangelism, street ministry, and an expanded church educational program was instituted.
2025
Rev. George was installed as Pastor on March 16th, 2025. Rooted in his passion for the Lord and love for His people, he radiantly preaches, teaches, and demonstrates God's plan of reconciling humanity, one soul at a time. Striving to provide opportunities to help our community.
